Start:Ladies and gentlemen, the last of the “big three of science fiction,” Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, and Arthur C. Clarke, left us today.

Arthur C. Clarke (I could never think of him as “Sir Clarke,” and he professed embarrassment about the title) was my first role model as a writer: Stanley Kubrick said, “Arthur’s ability to impart poignancy to a dying ocean or an intelligent vapor is unique.” His grasp on the English language in his prime was remarkable — fluid, at times majestic, and always concise.

“Black Mirror” Article Published on Music Blog Promo News

Start:Funny how things can come back to you.

Black Mirror

From Black Mirror by Arcade Fire

Back in the end of January I posted a review/ interpretation of the dazzling, surrealistic music video of the song “Black Mirror,” by the Canadian alternative rock band Arcade Fire. I recently archived the majority of the material on my blog, but was contacted by David Knight, the editor of Promo News who expressed interest in the article.

Promo News is a blog aimed at music video professionals, and to have the thoughts of an industry outsider showcased to this audience is something of an honor.

It’s been reposted on Promo News here.

My thanks go out to David Knight for seeking me out, and to the directors of the video, Olivier Groulx and Tracy Maurice, for suggesting my article to him.

The Dustin Clark Review of Red Moon

Bar
Start:Dustin Clark, otherwise known as “OddThings” over at The Book of THoTH, a blogger who focuses on the ancient historical context of UFOs and on other Fortean subjects, has given Red Moon a glowing review.

Just glowing.

Did I mention it was glowing?

Here’s what he did find wrong with it:

My only complaint is that when it was over I was actually wishing there was more. Not because the ending was bad, but because I wanted to know exactly what happened next to each character.

He later invites readers to enjoy the book … and then insists that they ride me to get the sequel written.

Read the rest here.

Thank you Dustin. And all the best to you, to wherever your road takes you.
