Gratitude! You’re right! What was I thinking?!

(I did actually tone this one down a little in the update. (Grr … grr …)

As for meeting you in San Antonio … that sounds pretty nice, actually. I’ll have to plan for that one, but it would be great to get away.

3 – nice post. Some Humans in this fast paced age do tend to focus on the one at the expense of the many, often thinking that either they don’t have time to focus on anyone else, that someone else will deal with it, or that it just doesn’t matter. Some…but by no means all.

Ayn Rand certainly was one to praise Ego. If you’re suggesting our capitalistic society has produced this social culture, I would agree that industrialization and the breakup of the extended and nuclear families are contributors.

That said, I don’t think any “-ism” is a license to stop being a human being. If we seek to blame some system for abdicating our personal responsibility to keep in touch with our essential humanity, this is simply an attempt to find a scapegoat outside of ourselves.

At what point do we finally wake up and admit to ourselves we’ve missed the point of being human? Hopefully somewhere before the precipice.

Isn’t this exactly what laissez faire capitalism is ALL about? Sin’t this what we worship via our Ayn Rand’s, the Libertarianisms, Tea Parties “Govt off MY back”??
