- Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude. For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.
- So … let’s rock!
• Something Visual •
Jo Englesson, member of my “League of Gratitude,” founder of TOFA (“Token OF Appreciation”) — and Twitter user @JoEnglesson — gives us “Giving Year Day 55 – Being in Service Day 8,” which extends appreciation to Clark Country Nevada’s Fire Station 28A, to six firefighters for being the heros they truly are.
(And Jo — my wife has a thing for firefighters, too.)
A longer video (17:43), for those who want some serious yoga practice with their gratitude. At Dailymotion, user jclivideo gives us “Gratitude,” an installment in a series entitled Your Daily Meditation.
• (The Rest of) the “League of Gratitude” •
Katie at Katie Krueger’s Snippets of Gratitude (Twitter user @KatieKrueger) gives us “Meet me in Saint Louis!” — an invitation to join her on a stop at the home of the Big Arch for her book tour, promoting Give with Gratitude: Lessons Learned Listening to West Africa.
•
Maya, of The Gratitude Journal, gives us “I Am Thankful for Picnics and Cookouts,” giving us a little slice of life of her hometown on the 4th of July, and what she’s grateful for from this year’s celebration specifically.
• This is The New Stuff •
Akemi Gaines at Yes to Me (Twitter user @akemigaines) gives us her monthly “Online Gratitude Journal June 2009 Edition #30,” in which the Akashic Record Reader and spiritual coach recaps events and things she’s learned through the month that she’s grateful for.
•
Rick Kiley (Twitter user @gThankYou) at Celebrating Work | The Blog of gThankYou.com gives us “Generosity Inc. = Gratitude Squared,” a good summary (and some personal observations) of the recent blogosphere commentary (and counter commentary) on Hyatt’s marketing scheme of “random acts of generosity.”
•
Ben at Self Help Gold gives us “The Gratitude List: The Antidote to Wanting More,” citing gratitude as the weapon to combat our seemingly insatiable desire for more.
•
Give this a look — I really feel this woman has “gotten it”: Molly at Modern Molly Mormon gives us “Gratitude for Hard Things,” taking us through a tough moment that shows us what radical gratitude is all about.
•
Daily Manna gives us “Gratitude,” some commentary on the work of stress researcher Hans Selye, and the best … and worst … attitudes we can maintain.
•
Jerry M. Nehr, Jr at Creative Discoveries gives us “Gratitude,” some interesting reflections on the part gratitude plays in workplace leadership.
•
Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
