- Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude. For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.
- So … let’s rock!
• Something Visual •
YouTube user maryspeaks gives us a remarkable examination of the power of thanks called: “Who I Am Makes A Difference.”
Watch this video.
More about this touching movie can be found at Mary Robinson Reynolds’ Make a Difference website.
Thanks to Monica J. Foster (Twitter user @BUTTERFLYWHEEL) for pointing me to this video.
•
Jo Englesson, member of my “League of Gratitude,” founder of TOFA (“Token OF Appreciation”) — and Twitter user @JoEnglesson — gives us “Giving Year Day 48 – Being in Service Day 1,” beginning a series within the series of giving her tokens to those who actively help others, professionally, or otherwise.
• (The Rest of) the “League of Gratitude” •
As mentioned above, I have a category of folks I call The “League of Gratitude,” people that have been frequent contributors to Gratitude Watch.
I’d like to welcome the newest member of my “League of Gratitude,” Elisabeth Kuhn, Ph.D., MFA (Twitter user @ElisabethKuhn). Today, at her blog My Favorite Self-Help Stuff Elisabeth gives us “Gratitude for Stress Relief and Good Karma too,” takes us on a walk-through on how she gives herself a gratitude adjustment. Elisabeth was also kind enough to give Gratitude Watch a hat tip as well. Thank you Elisabeth.)
•
Jonathan at The Year of Gratitude (Twitter user @jmagid) (welcome back, Jonathan, it’s good to see you) gives us “Just the other day,” where a gratitude adjustment plays into a personal reality check.
•
Another twofer (or so) from Maya, of The Gratitude Journal. First, “I Am Thankful for the Things I Do Not Know,” a lesson learned in the afternath of being left in the dark.
And second, a stunning expression of gratitude from (wait for it …) the mother-in-law in “Expressions of Gratitude.”
Just to share another peek at Maya’s neighborhood: Maya gives us a touching moment with a boy named Jason, who uses a cat to teach an object lesson to a little girl who doesn’t understand what to do with strangers, in Jason Tells Oliver’s Story.
• This is The New Stuff •
At Psychology Today, Cathy Malchiodi offers “Gratitude: Commit Random Acts of Art,” explaining (and sharing some reflections on) how to tie together thanks and creativity.
•
Bob Crawford (Twitter user @bobcrawford) at Growing Your SELF! gives us “Gratitude,” some personal reflections on just that, including a moment of being grateful for being grateful.
•
Mark T. Mitchell at Front Porch Republic gives us “Cultivating Gratitude,” a thoughtful examination of teaching gratitude to our young, in an effort to fend off ingratitude in their maturity.
•
Kelly Krueger (Twitter user @KellyAnimals) at Articulate Animals Blog gives us “Gratitude for Service Animals,” a fascinating look at service animals through the perceptions (traditional and otherwise) of an animal communicator.
• Oldy but Goody •
Isabella Mori (Twitter user @moritherapy) at Change Therapy gives us “Saying Grace,” a chain of thank to all those things that made that carrot in the soup on the table at dinner possible.
•
Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
