- Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude. For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.
- A little note: I keep running across the spelling of the word “gratefulness” rendered as “greatfulness.” Yeah, yeah, yeah. Terribly clever. (As they would say in Twitterspace, Woo Woo #FAIL.)
- Anyway … let’s rock!
• Something Visual •
From MasteryTV.com, “The Course in Mastery Day 21: Living in Gratitude.” Day 21 of the “30 day challenge,” featuring commentary on the necessity of gratitude from speakers Tom Wood (Twitter user @masterytv) and John Alston.
Thanks to DreamWeavers Blog for the tip.
•
From YouTube user tvochannel — “RACHAEL SMITH: Cancer Survivor created a not-for-profit to fight the disease.” A quick introduction to Rachael Smith, a cancer survivor deeply grateful for the support she received after going through arduous treatment and going into remission, and her story of creating “Yard Sale for the Cure,” a mechanism to express gratitude by giving back.
This gets an “A” for innovation in my book.
Jo Englesson, member of my “League of Gratitude,” founder of TOFA (“Token OF Appreciation”) — and Twitter user @JoEnglesson — gives us “Giving Year Day 42 – Matt at PostNet,” showing her appreciation to someone who made her life a little bit better that day.
• (The Rest of) the “League of Gratitude” •
Brenda Arnall at It’s a New Day gives us “Gratitude Is Cool,” where she expresses a timely and pragmatic thanks for those of us in the northern hemisphere … for air conditioning. Brenda also shares the latest installment of her 52 Blessings gratitude journal craft project.
•
The newest member of my “League of Gratitude,” Maya, of The Gratitude Journal, offers “I Am Thankful for Money, No Apologies,” where she gives us the “straight up” about why money is not a bad thing. (I’d also like to thank Maya for her lovely comments in “I Am Thankful for My Friend Daniel.” Right back at ya, lady.)
• This is The New Stuff •
Mike at Mike Gothard gives us “Gratitude Insurance,” some reflections on gratitude, God, and roller coasters. (Roller coasters?)
•
Mr. Self Development.com gives us “The Science of Getting Rich,” a quick and to the point overview of the Wallace D. Wattles classic, and the four principles he outlined, the fourth being … gratitude.
•
Snow P. at the Sober Blog gives us “Summer Booze Seductions; Staying Dry!” — some practical and meaningful suggestions on how gratitude can help those dealing with dependency issues.
• Oldies but Goodies •
A twofer from Elisabeth Kuhn (Twitter user @ElisabethKuhn) at Ezine @rticles – 1.) “Gratitude Journal – Attracting Abundance and Prosperity by Expressing Appreciation – In Writing,” a good explanation of how using a gratitude journal can help turn you day around and keep it turned around. 2.) This from Thanksgiving season: “Not Just on Thanksgiving – Counting Our Blessings in Gratitude All Year Long,” a reminder that gratitude needs to come out of the oven more than once a year.
•
From August 13th of 2008, Lea (Twitter user @Lea50) at Ocean Of Perspectives offers us “Abundance Through Harmony,” pointing out that gratitude is the key to abundance, and may even be the key to being “perfectly desireless.”
•
Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
