- Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude. For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.
- So … let’s rock!
• Something Visual •
YouTube user RVSchuller, with her video “Grandma’s Gratitude,” gives us a an appreciation of the quality of gratitude her grandmother would constantly express, and urges us to cultivate gratitude in our lives.
•
Also from YouTube, user BraveHeartWomenTV gives us “Fun and Gratitude with Ellie Drake and Debra Skelton Pt 1,” a surprisingly intelligent, metaphysical discussion (I generally don’t expect that from comics, do you?) involving happiness, gratitude, and manifesting the lives we want between Brave Heart Women TV host Ellie Drake and former Mad TV performer and new feature film actor Debra Skelton.
(The video opens with Ms. Skelton saying “I’m grateful to be a Brave Heart Woman. Are you?” Sorry, no, Ms. Skelton, but I think I have a valid excuse.)
• This is The New Stuff •
Monica Ricci at Psychology Today gives us “Uncommon Gratitude Makes Relationships Better,” making some excellent points on how gratitude can enrich our relationships.
•
Susan Dugan at sudugan’s blog gives us “The way I fly in gratitude,” an engrossing exploration of gratitude, on finding oneself to be a little more of a closet “helicopter parent” than one would care for, and a lesson of relevance from A Course in Miracles.
(Yeah, that was the first time I’d heard of a “helicopter parent” too.)
•
Hilary at One Mom’s Year of Gratitude gives us “Gratitude for Gratitude’s Sake,” an odd and happy little moment I’m sure many of us have shared, when we become the object of someone else’s gratitude.
•
Kelly at The Bowmans offers “Gratitude for Growth,” in which she candidly expresses gratitude to God for waking her up to an issue she was studiously doing her best to ignore.
(Note: the blog may load slowly for some due to a very large background image.)
•
Touching: the Bowdoin College Campus News blog gives us “Family Shows Gratitude with Gift of Kimono,” a snapshot of gratitude expressed by a family for kindness extended by the college to their a great-grandfather … nearly 100 years ago.
•
Vijai Sharma, Ph.D. at My Yoga Online.com offers “The Power of Acceptance and Gratitude,” in which he focuses on the power that choice plays in gratitude, and follows with a three-step yoga style heart and breathing exercise to enhance positive emotions in our lives.
• Oldy but Goody •
At Ezine @rticles, Sharon Marsh gives us a little Law of Attraction gratitude with “Discover the Gratitude Process for Increasing Cash Flow,” including a story of “applied gratitude” where a business owner successfully increase his referral customers.
•
At WebMD, Annie Stuart gives us “Why You’re Not Happy,” focusing on six barriers to personal happiness and what to do about them … which includes letting go of preconceived negative perceptions of how things “just are,” by using gratitude to break through our faulty beliefs.
•
Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
