Gratitude Watch – 2009-04-25

by Daniel Brenton on April 25, 2009

    Start:Welcome to Gratitude Watch.
Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude. For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.
    So … let’s rock!

•  Something Visual  •

Sue and Steve of The Sue and Steve Show (Twitter user @sueandsteve,) gives us “Ample Appreciation!” a conversation which starts off with a quote from Abraham-Hicks and jumps into what appreciation and gratitude mean for them personally.

YouTube user Annasamovar, Bo Sanchez, the “Preacher in Blue Jeans,” (Twitter user @BoSanchez) gives continues with his message of gratitude with: “Gratitude attracts, draw, take-in, absorb, receive the blessings of God,” including an excellent illustration of how gratitude makes us more able to receive.

•  From The “League of Gratitude”  •

As mentioned previously, I’ve added a category of links I call The “League of Gratitude,” folks that have been frequent contributors to Gratitude Watch.

Brenda Arnall at It’s a New Day gives us “Visiting Blessings,” a reflection on when we have the opportunity to share some time with those who may not ordinarily be in our lives. Brenda also shares the latest installment of her 52 Blessings gratitude journal craft project.

•  This is The New Stuff  •

Jane Reeves at Go Yoga Jane gives us a “Gratitude Meditation Practice,” showing us that yoga is about more than turning ourselves into pretzels.

Dr. Robyn J.A. Silverman at The Powerful Parent Blog gives us some suggestions (and a chance to watch “The Gratidudes” do their gratitude dance again) at “How do you express your gratitude?”

Jules B. at The Coach and Ideas For You gives us “Time to Take Action! Positive Leadership – Gratitude, Happiness and High Performance,” cites a recent study that we can influence our overall happiness 40% (over the 60% dictated by biology and circumstances), and of how important this is to leadership.

Carol Brown at Finding Peace amid Sorrow gives us “Attitude of Gratitude.” a quick reminder that gratitude may be the glue that keeps our personal world working in the toughest of times.

•  Oldies but Goodies  •

Jonathan Wells at Advanced Life Skills (Twitter user @mrjWells gives us “One Dozen Simple Stress Busters,” wrapping them up with a reminder that gratitude, on top of everything else it can do, can help cut the stress from our lives.

Art Stanley at Ezine @rticles gives us “3 Valuable Life Lessons from Wallace Wattles,” the third on gratitude and the power it has in connecting us to the Infinite.

Looks like Ezine @rticles gave us a twofer today: Andrea Goeglein, Ph.D. and Mary Agnes Antonopoulos give us “How to Succeed Using Gratitude – An Hour to Live, an Hour to Love, by Richard and Kristine Carlson,” a quick introduction to the work of the late positive psychologist Richard Carlson. (Which is not to be confused with the work of the co-star of the original The Day the Earth Stood Still Richard Carlson.)

As it happens, Kristine Carlson is on Twitter: @KristineCarlson.

Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.

Hey Daniel, nice collection and great reminders on the value of gratitude in our lives. I appreciate your focus here and thanks so much for the link.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for including us on your blog. It’s really a wonderful compliment when people want to share stuff we’ve done, with their own friends and clients. I really like what your blog is about and LOVE the slogan, “the Curmudgeon’s Guide to Spirituality.”

I hope our paths cross again soon!

Steve
