Gratitude Watch – 2009-03-31

by Daniel Brenton on March 31, 2009

    Start:Welcome to Gratitude Watch.
Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude. For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.
    So … let’s rock!

•  Something Visual  •

YouTube user tokensofgratitude gives us “Live a life of gratitude,” some affirrming thoughts and matching eye candy for gratitude.

•  This is The New Stuff  •

Golda at Body Love Wellness Blog gives us “The Gratitude Attitude,” reminding us that making a practice of gratitude helps keep us in the present.

Everlasting Designs gives us a guest post by Jennifer Louden, “Dude, Where’s My Gratitude?” Citing gratitude as the #2 item in creating what we need from what we have, Jennifer then allows gratitude to monopolize the remainder of the article (as well it should, darn it) with a story and some excellent practice points.

The Gaea News gives us the write-up: “Dalai Lama begins ‘Thank You India’ campaign.” You can’t say His Holiness doesn’t “get” gratitude.

Becky at Suburban Matron gives us “Gratitude Death Spiral,” some helpful hints on when it’s okay to say “enough, already!” and get off the thank you merry-go-round.

Warren at Grace Unfolding gives us a “Lesson From The Toilet Cleaning Man,” an reflection on being grateful for unlikely things.

Stephen Mills at The Rat Race Trap (Twitter user @RatRaceTrap) gives us “Positivity Leads to a Flourishing Life,” an overview of the Barbara L. Fredrickson’s book Positivity, on what Positive Psychology teaches that can help all of us.

Ezine Articles gives us “Cancer, Gratitude and Creativity,” by Leslie Gebhart, a reminder that some of the best medicine may just be what we create ourselves.

At About.com: Single Parents, Jennifer Wolf gives us “Top 5 Habits to Teach Gratitude and Appreciation,” on how to make gratitude a regular family habit.

Also from About.com, from Stress Management, Elizabeth Scott, M.S gives us “How To Gratitude Journal – How to Maintain a Gratitude Journal for Stress Relief.” Four points for getting started, and some tips for keeping it going.

(And if you’re looking for “oldies but goodies” … sorry.)

Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.

Nice work Daniel, I can always use reminders to practice gratitude.

Namaste, Warren
