Gratitude Watch – 2009-02-07

by Daniel Brenton on February 7, 2009

Start:Welcome to Gratitude Watch.

Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude. For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.

So … let’s rock!

•  Something Visual  •

Miz Fit, fellow tweeter on Twitter, gives us some commentary about her “Gratitude Board,” a tool like a vision board, a set of images to focus on for a specific purpose.

•  The “League of Gratitude”  •

Brenda Arnall at It’s a New Day gives us “Small Victories,” expressing some thanks for a friend of the family’s successful progress in his battle with lung cancer. She also continues with her gratitude journal craft project with a new page, on “prayers heard.”

And quickly, a ninth gratitude quote from Sunny Side Up’s Julie Obermiller here.

•  This is The New Stuff  •

The Mommy at Your Impact Matters (another fellow tweeter on Twitter), offers “A Life Lived in Gratitude,” which examines the power of gratitude and points us at an exercise to examine what we can be grateful for in regards to … that challenging person in our life.

Angie Ledbetter at Gumbo Writer sums up what a year of focusing on being thankful has done for her in “Gratitude.”

Angie was also a contributor to a blog I missed completely, somehow, A Year of Gratitude-Health, Wealth and Happiness for Free, with posts by Angie, as well as Kat Magendie, Patresa Hartman, Barbara Quinn, and Nannette Croce.

Marcy Martin, The Virtual Vixen, gives us “Gratitude,” and shows us the tool it has become in adjusting to … er … the unemployed life.

Nader Alfie at Sneakers and Books gives us “Gratitude and Depression,” some Orthodox-flavored views on gratitude.

Ed Brenegar at Leading Questions gives us “Reflection on Gratitude,” opening with the comment, “No one person’s life contains enough of the material to paint the picture of what gratitude is.”

Putting his service where his mouth is, Ed has created an online social network Say thanks Every Day through the Ning social network service, a network he introduces as “… a place to tell stories about how gratitude has changed lives.”

Katie Krueger (yet another fellow tweeter on Twitter) offers her striking Snippets of Gratitude photo postcards at the Snippets of Gratitude’s Online Store.

Tejash Shah at Thanks God gives us “The Power Of Gratitude,” a lengthy and comprehensive look at gratitude, responsibility, perception, and a little about overcoming resistance to thankfulness to boot.

Baron Schwartz at Xaprb gives us “Gratitude for a consistent focus on value.” This one is a bit off the beaten path for me, but a valuable one. The post gives us a peek at a high-tech professional’s thankfulness that those leaders in his industry that he has worked with (and for) understand the importance of value to the customer, for what makes for a happy employee, and what makes a healthy corporate culture.

Encouraging to hear, nowadays.

Patrick Meninga at Spiritual River gives us “Why I’m Grateful for all the Misery I Experienced in Addiction,” and stresses the importance of practicing gratitude when life is giving us chaos and turmoil.

Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
