Gratitude Watch – 2009-01-13

by Daniel Brenton on January 13, 2009

Start:Welcome to Gratitude Watch.

Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude. For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.

So … let’s rock!

•  This is The New Stuff  •

First, YouTube user justakidatheart gives us something we can all express some gratitude for: “Return from Iraq.”

As mentioned last time, I’ve added a new category of links I call The “League of Gratitude,” folks that have been frequent contributors to Gratitude Watch.

• From The “League” This Edition:

Jonathan at The Year of Gratitude gives us “How to Make a Fan,” a story of loyalty, upper management, and the power of a simple thank you.

Our newest “inductee” to the “League,” Dragos Roua, of eDragonu – the choice of a personal path, gives us “The Gratitude Experiment.” Dragos a invites us to participate in his “gratitude experiment,” sharing what we are grateful for with others through social media, specifically Twitter. He also gives us a guided tour of the iPhone gratitude journaling application, “Gratitude!”

• New from the World Wide Web:

At the Professional Self Improvement Articles Directory, Deirdre McEachern give us “Humble Riches,” introducing a concept called “Momentary Contentment,” that helps shift the mind toward possibilities, appreciation, and gratitude.

From another article site, Hittrafficer.com, Jan Shimano offers “Appreciation and Gratitude,” where she reminds us that appreciation and gratitude are a two-way street.

In “How Sweet It Is….” Aren Cohen at ePsychology.us tells us how a 34 year old single girl used Positive Psychology, a gratitude journal, goal setting and visualization to finally find the man of her dreams.

Zoey Jordan at the Rich Mind Life Strategy gives us our high wavelength Law of Attraction fix for the day with “Vibrate at the Frequency You Want to Manifest.”

Kelsey Pyle at Discover Your Bliss celebrates a celebrity genuinely expressing gratitude (with not one but two videos) in “Kate Winslet Wins 2 Golden Globes.”

YouTube user JustLive.tv gives us “Learning to Be Thankful Even When You Don’t Feel Like It,” a pep talk on getting a better perspective by recognizing all the things we can be grateful for.

•  Oldies but Goodies  •

Bill Sherman of Aha-Moments gives us “The Gratitude Project: My Story.” In this, Mr. Sherman recounts life as a child being treated for Cystic Fibrosis, and the act of composing a letter of thanks to one of his doctors, looking back as an adult with a new appreciation of what they had done for him.

If you didn’t catch this video, “Gratitude,” in my last article, watch it now. It’s a striking personal story of the power of gratitude, from Jason Hall, writer, motivational speaker — and quadriplegic (with only partial use of his arms).

Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
