Welcome to Gratitude Watch.
Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude.
For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.
Here’s hoping that Christmas (for all you Christmas types out there) was suitably joyous, snowy and otherwise Christmas-ey. (Though I guess if you folks in Australia and New Zealand got a lot of snow, then that would be a problem. Hopefully no sunburn.)
Anyway, let’s rock!
• This is The New Stuff •
YouTube user HVMediaGroup offers “Despite car accident, woman is thankful on Christmas Eve.” A pleasant little moment where a woman with a car stranded in a ditch because of snow-packed roads had the presence of mind to be grateful with how the situation played out.
(Well played.)
•
Bradley J. Moore at Shrinking the Camel gives us “The Spiritually Astute Christian’s Guide to What’s Hot in 2009,” what’s actually a droll little post in which, among other things, calls out gratitude as a fashion trend for the upcoming year.
•
Leopiya from Pack of Life gives us “Joy of Gifting…” the joy of the gratitude received in the act of giving.
•
Anthony Samuel P. (yeah, that’s all of it) at Gather offers “The Gift of Giving and Gratitude,” some thoughts on gratitude, experience, and … finding your voice as a novelist.
•
Cindie Wilding of Answers From Within presents “Coping with Post Christmas Blues?” She shares that gratitude is a way to address these complex feelings (that I suspect many of us are having).
•
Ginabad at Kids and Kiddos gives us “Too Many Toys: Reminding Kids of the Meaning of the Holiday,” which includes a healthy-sized segment on encouraging the giving of thanks on the part of our children.
•
Deane at Gadgetopia makes us aware of a gratitude journal application for our iPhones (no, don’t have one yet) called (surprise!) “Gratitude,” more about which can be found here.
(If it’s on an iPhone, does that mean it’s virtual gratitude?)
(Wait … if it’s on a blog, does that mean …)
•
Audrey Louise at Powerful Intentions offers “Messages from All Around,” some gratitude for (and very candid commentary about) the guidance and protection she has received in her life.
•
To end our new stuff with a bang, YouTube user Formula4Change gives us “Thankful – by Josh Groban.” I don’t know if this is the “official” video (couldn’t find it on YouTube) but the imagery here is both powerful and touching.
• Oldies but Goodies •
Tom Hoobyar, The Street Smart CEO give us “Tom’s Twelve Truths.” Note that this page is a brief summary, and that you can get the entire article by email request.
Now … if you’re leery of getting on the mailing list, you can go to someone who has already gotten it — and apparently quite a few people have, because I found it posted at a couple of places including inspired, here.
•
Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
