Welcome to Gratitude Watch.
Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude.
For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.
Some good stuff, and some odd stuff today, so Let’s rock!
• This is The New Stuff •
The Real Mike Griffin at The Real Mike Griffin (I hope there isn’t a phony Mike Griffin … that would be a drag) gives us “Think And Grow Rich: The Carnegie Wealth Secret,” where he makes several observations about “the secret behind the secret” of the classic Think and Grow Rich, and astutely notes that “gratitude is the oil that makes it all work smoothly.”
•
Content for Reprint (ugh … what a name!) actually has a very good reminder from contributor Rosemary Lichtman, Ph.D.: “5 Steps to Gratitude Despite a Tough Economy.” In this she offers five good points to help keep gratitude in focus.
•
Zach Kong at Living A Life Of Certainty and Success gives us “Why Aren’t You Building Your Gratitude List Yet?” — though he opens with something unexpected: consider that there may be people who would be grateful to live the life you’re living now, no matter what you think of it. Great perspective.
•
From Haven Kimmel’s Blog: “Gratitude Is The Heart’s Memory.”
I have made a practice of avoiding blog posts that are essentially personal laundry lists or slices of a person’s life, but Haven’s gift for down to earth prose gives us a delightful personal travelogue that is at times a joy to read.
Give it a few paragraphs. It took me “home” for a while; maybe it will do the same for you.
•
Maya at The Gratitude Journal has a quick note worth considering: “Giving Without Expectations.”
•
“changedbehindbars’ at The Changed Behind Bars Weblog gives us “The Mechanism of Change: An Attitude of Gratitude.” How a celebrity’s reflections helped a prisoner get a perspective on to Whom he is thankful.
•
I’m breaking another one of my own rules again, but this one’s worth it. The unnamed “help meet” (“help mate,” as in King James Bible-speak) at An Help Meet – Articulate. Adamant. Archaic gives us “Gratitude Thursday,” which opens with a quote on positive emotions from Wikapedia and then veers into a charming and in places funny gratitude list — should bring a smile, even to you other curmudgeons out there. Though I still don’t understand the meaning of being grateful for “Crocs ~ preferably lime green with bling.”
“Bling”?
“Croc”?
• Oldies but Goodies •
At eNotAlone, Leslie Karen Lobell, M.A. gives us “Cultivating an Attitude of Gratitude… Even on a Bad Day.” (There is no posting date on this, so I will have to assume it’s been around a while.)
An excellent article by Ms. Lobell, including a personal story we all can relate to that drove home her point very well. (Besides, any article that opens with a story out of Dan Millman’s Way of the Peaceful Warrior can’t be all bad.)
Thanks to Adinear at Your Perfect Body Weight – No more dieting for point me at this.
•
Marelisa Fabrega at The Change Blog gives us “How Gratitude Can Change Your Life,” a good overview of the power of gratitude, and some notes on unusual ways to practice it.
•
Okay — one more Law of Attraction thing … but it’s visual and meditative.
YouTube user davidmargolis75 gives us “The Gratitude Diet – The Secret To The Law of Attraction.”
This is an excerpt from a compilation of 10 videos, intended to promote joy and inner peace. More about this complete package can be found here.

Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
