Gratitude Watch – 2008-12-05

by Daniel Brenton on December 5, 2008

Start:Welcome to Gratitude Watch.

Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude.

For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.

Let’s rock!

•  This is The New Stuff  •

Hey … some reflections on gratitude from CNN! — “Rick Warren: There’s a purpose behind our problems.” A transcript of an interview with Rick Warren, founder and pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, in which he offers up some wisdom in … being grateful for our problems.

Kurt Behrenfeld at Submiter gives us “Gratitude – A Noble Currency” Among a number of great insights, Kurt comments: “Gratitude is the gold standard of awareness.” (What a great line!)

David Crone of I’m No Dummy – Blogging about ventriloquism, self employment, and other fun stuff, gives us “Attitude of Gratitude,” a good statement about doing what you love. Though maybe not not doing as well as he’d like, the author is nevertheless grateful that he is doing what he has always dreamed of doing.

Jade at From the HEART of an ANGEL gives us “The Gratitude of the Saints.”

I normally tend to avoid including gratitude lists for Gratitude Watch, but this one is poetic, and further, the author mentions that she is coping with Myasthenia Gravis, a decease I know more about than I’d care to, because it’s one of the issues that killed my mother.

All the best to you, Jade. You can beat this thing.

MzTeeJaye at Cali Dreams, comments on “The Amazing Power of Mothers.” A “thank you” to her mother — and mothers everywhere — for encouragement, and the acknowledgment of thanks from her own daughter for MzTeeJaye’s encouragement to her.

Gratitude flows upstream sometimes, doesn’t it?

Ezra Gardener of EzraGardener.net posts “Always Give Thanks,” an excellent and extensive article on the power of appreciation.

“Gifts of Gratitude,” a video from Jane Young (Joy to the World). A statement that when gratitude and thanksgiving become a way of life, abundance comes to us.

Christian Business Daily reprints motivational icon Zig Ziglar’s short essay, “The Attitude of Gratitude.”

Dr. Linda Brodsky, pediatric surgeon, talks insightfully at The Brodsky Blog about being on the receiving end of gratitude, with “Gifts of Gratitude 1 (A Series of Gifts from My Patients, Their Families, My Students and My Teachers).”

•  Oldies but Goodies  •

A thoughtful (and very low-key) video from Elyse Killoran’s 21 Days of Gratitude, “Link between Thanksgiving and the Law of Attraction.”

A very well produced video about Operation Gratitude: “The Definition of Gratitude.”

Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
