Welcome to Gratitude Watch.
Gratitude Watch is an eye on the internet for news, articles, videos, and other items, all focusing on the subject of gratitude.
For more on my intent on these postings, see About Gratitude Watch.
And now, let’s rock!
• This is The New Stuff •
At Leongal’s Yoga Space, Timothy McCall, M.D presents “Yoga to Cultivate Compassion, Gratitude, and Joy.”
•
Not surprisingly, the blogosphere is full of items about gratitude for service men (and women) because of the American holiday of Veteran’s Day.
Peacoat offers a personal look into her world with “33 days of gratitude – those who serve,” a message of thanks to Veterans and those who serve.
I empathize with this more now than I ever have — I have a family friend about to be deployed to Iraq. Yesterday I asked him to promise me he would come back. He said he couldn’t promise that, but he would do everything he could to do it.
Damn.
Mixed Nuts gives us: I’m Proud To Be An America, an impassioned expression of gratitude for all who have served our country to help protect it from “enemies of our nation, foreign and domestic.”
(Yeah, this one leans hard to the Right. I am not an anti-Republican bigot, okay?)
“Adopt A US Soldier Offers Encouragement and Gratitude,” from Home Town Cobb, News from Cobb County, GA, makes us aware of the Adopt A US Soldier program.
•
The Grateful Rabbi gives us “Gratefulness for a Chance Encounter on Veteran’s Day.” In a post not related to military service or the holiday, the Rabbi shares his discovery that most important words in the English language that tap into human meaning begin with the letter “E.”
•
Lorraine Cohen at Powerfull Living offers “Do You Have The Courage To Let Go Of Control?” She asserts that being the creator of our destiny isn’t a passive state, and that gratitude is instrumental to that process.
•
Relationship coach Jane Straus at Enough is Enough! posts “Making the Bed with Gratitude,” a touching moment of revelation for a client’s relationship with her husband.
•
Morgana Rae at Abundance and Prosperity posts “Gratitude,” and in this confronts the very real question of the mess of our world and what is in it for which we can we be grateful.
• Oldies but Goodies •
“Gratitude is,” a reflective video about the subject at hand, posted by YouTube user macarenalovemore.
•
Jonathan at Illuminated Mind: The Less Boring Side of Personal Development (love the slightly snarky subtitle) posts “How to Use Gratitude to Re-Center Yourself,” which gives us three things we can do to to keep gratitude central in our lives.
•
Stay tuned for the next Gratitude Watch.
